Laura Valenti (born in Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy) is the winner of the Miss Universo Italia 2009 pageant that was held at the Palariccione in Riccione, Emilia-Romagna on May 24, 2009. She will represent Italy at the Miss Universe 2009 pageant at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23. Were she to advance to the semifinals, it would mark the fifth time that two Italian delegates managed to make the first cut back to back: in 2008, Claudia Ferraris ended up 9th at the end of the competition. It previously only happened in 1953/54, 1956/57, 1963/64 and 1982/83.

Julianne Hough (born July 20, 1988) is an American professional ballroom dancer and country music singer. She is most-widely known for her repeated appearances on ABC’s program, Dancing with the Stars, which she won twice. She earned a Creative Arts Primetime Emmy nomination in 2007 for her choreography. ABC’s 20/20 called her one of the “very best dancers on the planet.” Julianne’s brother, Derek Hough, is also on Dancing with the Stars. Hough was signed to Mercury Nashville Records in December 2007. Her self-titled debut album was released May 20, 2008, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Country Album chart and #3 on the Billboard 200. This season Hough was partnered with Cody Linley.
Hough grew up one of five children from an LDS (Mormon) family in Salt Lake City. Her brother Derek Hough is also a professional dancer. She has three sisters named Sharee, Marabeth, and Katherine. All four of her grandparents were dancers, and her parents met while on a ballroom dancing team in college in Idaho.
Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente Scherzinger (also known as Nicole Kea) born June 29, 1978 is an American pop singer, songwriter, dancer, model, and occasional actress best known as the lead vocalist for the Pussycat Dolls. She took the surname Scherzinger when she was adopted by her stepfather.
Scherzinger was born in Honolulu to a Filipino father and a Hawaiian/Russian mother. Her mother Rosemary was eighteen at the time of Scherzinger’s birth and lived in an inner city neighborhood and separated from her father when she was a baby. The family moved to Louisville, Kentucky when she was six years old, with her sister Ke’ala and stepfather Gary Scherzinger. She stated she had a “conservative Catholic” upbringing. Scherzinger began her life as a performer in Louisville, attending the Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School and performing with Actors Theatre of Louisville. Scherzinger majored in theater arts at Wright State University but put her studies on hold in 1999 to sing backing vocals for the rock band Days of the New.
