Kamilla Salgado from Pará was crowned Miss Mundo Brasil 2010 (or Miss World Brazil 2010) in the pageant held at the Hotel do Frade in Agra dos Reis.

She is representing Brazil in Miss World 2010 in Sanya, People’s Republic of China on October 30, 2010.

Biography

Born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, she is graduated in pedagogy, and works in the Secretaria de Educação de Natal (Secretariat of Education of Natal).

Pageants

Larissa Costa won the Miss Rio Grande do Norte in 2009, representing the city of São Gonçalo do Amarante. She won the Miss Brasil 2009 representing Rio Grande do Norte state. She beat the 1st runner-up, Rayanne Morais, of Minas Gerais state and the 2nd runner-up, Denise Ribeiro, of the Distrito Federal. Larissa Costa’s coronation as Miss Brasil ended her region’s 20 year period without winning the beauty contest, as in 1989, Flávia Cavalcante, from Ceará state, won the contest.

Beleza Brasil 2009

Representing the state of Amazonas, Ramos took the title of Beleza Brasil 2009 and was crowned by Tatiane Alves, Beleza Brasil 2008 and Miss Earth Fire 2008 last November 28,2008 in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Standing 1.78 m., she will represent her country in the 9th edition of Miss Earth pageant.

Her court includes Miss Brazil Earth Air (first runner up) Miss Pará, Naiane Alves, Miss Brazil Earth Water (second runner up), Miss Rondônia, Luana Athar, and Miss Brazil Earth Fire (third runner up) Miss Esperito Santo, Debora Lyra.]].

On May 25, 2007, she was chosen as one of the finalists in the Top Model competition in Amazona, Brazil from 1,572 applicants conducted by Amazon Empório Magazine in partnership with Karin Models Paris.

Gisele Bündchen was born in the Brazilian town of Três de Maio and grew up in Horizontina, Rio Grande do Sul, to Vânia Nonnenmacher, a bank clerk pensioner, and Valdir Bündchen, a university teacher and writer. She has five sisters — Raquel, Graziela, Gabriela, Rafaela and her fraternal twin Patrícia, Gisele’s junior by five minutes. Bündchen is Roman Catholic, speaks Portuguese as her native language and English as a second language.

She is from Southern Brazil, a region whose population is largely composed of Brazilians of German descent. Bündchen is of German ancestry from both sides of her family, which is integrated in Brazilian society for many Generations: her great-great-grandparents immigrated to Brazil from Germany. In regards to her ethnic background, Bündchen said:

I was born in Horizontina, a town in the backcountry of (Brazilian) state Rio Grande do Sul. The town was once mainly colonized by Germans. In the school which I attended, learning German was actually obligatory from third grade on. But being out of touch with the language for such a long time, I unfortunately forgot it. [...] I belong to the sixth generation of my family in Brazil.

Originally, Bündchen wanted to be a professional volleyball player and considered playing for the Brazilian team, Sogipa. While in school, Bündchen was so thin that her friends used to call her “Olívia Palito” (Portuguese for Olive Oyl, Popeye’s skinny girlfriend) and “Saracura” (a type of Brazilian shorebird).

In 1993, a then-13-year-old Bündchen joined a modeling course with her sisters Patrícia and Gabriela at her mother’s insistence. The following year, Bündchen went to São Paulo on a school excursion to give them an opportunity to walk in a big city. In a shopping mall, while eating a Big Mac with her friends, Bündchen was discovered by a modeling agency. She was subsequently selected for a national contest, Elite Look of the Year, in which she placed second — Claudia Menezes, from Bahia, took first place. Bündchen placed fourth in the world contest, held in Ibiza, Spain. In 1996, Bündchen moved to New York City to begin her modeling career, debuting at Fashion Week.

Zimmermann was discovered by a scouting agency in Porto Alegre, Brazil at the age of 14 and made her way to Japan and onto Paris. Shortly thereafter, Steven Meisel booked her for the cover of Italian Vogue, September 2000, and her modelling career began in earnest.

Zimmermann’s friends at school convinced her to pursue modelling as a career. She is known for being very professional and polite to everyone. As for a plan after modelling, she says she would like to work with something creative.

Personal life

Raquel Zimmermann is married to Ruy Sanchez Blanco, a photographer. Both are now living in New York.

Lima was born in the northeastern coastal town of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil on June 12, 1981. Her father, from whom she was estranged for most of her life, is Nelson Torres, and her mother, Maria da Graça Lima, was a social worker. Lima revealed that her father walked out on her family when she was six months old, but has been making recent attempts to reconcile. In late 2007, Lima revealed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that although she is her mother’s only child, she has two half brothers, aged 7 and 11, from her father’s second marriage. Coming from a poor family, her first time leaving her country and first time on a plane was when she was 15. She was raised mainly by her mother and her grandmother. Modeling

Lima never thought about being a model. However, she had a friend at school who wanted to enter a modeling contest and didn’t want to enter alone, so Lima entered with her. Both sent in pictures, and the contest sponsor soon asked Lima to come out for the competition. Soon after, at the age of 15, she entered and finished in first place in Ford’s “Supermodel of Brazil” model search. She subsequently entered the 1996 Ford “Supermodel of the World” contest and finished in second place. Three years later, Lima moved to New York City and signed with Elite Model Management. After acquiring representation, Lima’s modeling portfolio began to expand by leaps and bounds, and she appeared in numerous international editions of Vogue and Marie Claire. Acting

Lima’s first acting role was the wife, alongside Mickey Rourke, Forest Whitaker in The Follow (2001), one of BMW’s short films series titled The Hire, starring Clive Owen. She also appeared with her fellow Angels in a guest spot playing herself in the series How I Met Your Mother in November 2007.

In 2008, Lima appeared on the American television series “Ugly Betty,” where she played herself and made friends with the series’ title character, played by America Ferrera. According to her publicist, Liza Anderson, “Adriana has always been a huge fan of Ugly Betty and is thrilled for the opportunity to make a guest star appearance.”

In 2003 Lima signed on as spokesperson for cosmetics giant Maybelline New York. She has renewed her contract ever since. She took place in the very first Maybelline Calendar which was shot in New York, with Kemp Muhl, Jessica White, Julia Stegner and Anna Wang. The Calendar is a Limited edition release for the 2009 year.

She was born in the small town of Erechim, Brazil on April 11, 1981 to petrol station-owner parents. She is of Italian and Polish descent. She was just eight years old when she decided she wanted to be a model, after seeing a picture of top covergirl Karen Mulder in a magazine. “I wanted to be like her,” she recalls. However, she felt insecure about her appearance, particularly of her large, obvious ears. So at 11, she had cosmetic surgery done to get her ears pinned back. She had complications from the surgery for the two years following. In 2006 on The Tyra Banks Show, she said that the surgery had been a bad experience for her and that she was discouraged from having plastic surgery again.
